Pen to Paper.

2.04.2013

When putting it on my 25 before 25 list, I had a number of reasons why I included "to purchase stationery." While email and text are convenient and instant, I still enjoy sitting down to hand write a note to someone. This holds especially true when it comes to a thank you, whether it be personal or professional.
Ciao Note Cards

Having stationery on hand also helps me to send said thank you notes in a timely fashion. It never fails that when I need a card, I don't have one, which means a trip to the store, finding time to go to said store, etc. Now that problem is eliminated. The only problem I have now is wanting to buy every bit of pretty, especially personalized, paper I see.
Cards from Papyrus.
My favorite place to buy cards lately has been Papyrus; they are just so detailed and pretty! And what better place than Etsy for personalized stationery! I have been so happy with the ones I've purchased so far, and look forward to buying more. Here are a few of my favorite designs:

1. Personalized Note Cards: Naomi Lynn
(I have these for "professional" correspondence. HIGHLY recommend.)
2. Thinking of You Note Cards: Fiona Designs
3. NY Skyline Personalized Flat Cards: Fiona Designs
4. Macaron Thank You Cards: River and Bridge
5. Coco Note Cards: Brittany Fuson

Where do you shop for stationery? Do you enjoy handwriting notes?

  5. I love papyrus, but it's so expensive! I've never shopped etsy for cards before, I'll have to go hunting around there next time.

  6. I LOVE stationary. If you haven't checked them out, you should look into Rifle & Co. They seem to be right up your alley.
Papyrus does have beautiful cards, but they are pretty expensive. I bought some there a few months ago and it was 5 for the price of 4. Still expensive, but I got a Valentine's card for my sweetheart and I have been holding onto it ever since. Can't wait to give it to him next week!

  7. I love stationery!! I also love Papyrus. I have so many cards that I actually didn't buy any last year. And then I was out of the country so I didn't get to write and mail Christmas cards :/

Papyrus is expensive but I often buy in bulk post-season or when they have sales so that I'm not pressured. I make sure I have wedding, baby, birthday, thank you, Christmas and plain cards.

I'm old school with it though - I use fountain pens 95% of the time that I write anything. I have about eight bottles of ink to go through and 6 pens, three currently in rotation :)
