October 15th aka the Day Ed Westwick Bumped into me

11.27.2010

I seriously didn't want to post anything because I was honest to God deathly afraid the Gossip Girl/CW/Warner Brothers police would come after me.

But I figured since the episode is airing on Monday, that it was OK.

Gossip Girl came to film for a second time at my school. Back in April, they used various parts of my school to film the episode where Dorota gave birth. Again, they shot another hospital scene, leaving us all wondering what is going to happen?!

October 14th: Setup

OH NO!

October 15th:
Dear Diary,
Ed Westwick bumped into me.
I was DYING to see the complete setup, and well, who was there. In between classes,  I tried to play it coy as I passed through the lounge where they were setup and filming, to get into the library. After loitering around the library for a few minutes, I decided I had to get out and go to class. As I was about to head out, through the glass doors, I caught a glimpse of a man in a lavish purple coat. A quick side glance, and it was him.
It was Ed Westwick.
Ed. Freaking. Westwick.
Well I started to panic, and in order to not freak out completely, I bbm'ed my friend to see if she was in school yet, and to let her know who was here.
And as I was walking out, then it happened.
Ed Westwick bumped into me.
Being so caught up in my messaging, I went to apologize, and froze as this creature of a man, who in a smooth English accent replied "Oh, Sorry!"
#dead
I am blithely unaware when or how I made to class, or how I managed to take a History midterm ( I ended up getting a B for Bass). After leaving school for the day, the stars of the show were going in and out for lunch and such. I saw Leighton Meester running around with her new pup, but she was too far to get a picture.

I was sad however that Blake Lively was MIA (apparently she filmed over night, and flew to LA Friday morning).  I can't wait to see the episode come Monday.  On another note, is anyone else completely sick of Juliet/Vanessa/Racoonface? Thankfully, SkankMomsen has been placed on indefinite hiatus.

Missing Milan

11.22.2010

For whatever reason earlier, I decided to watch the latest episode of America's Next Top Model. Mind you I have not watched this show since maybe season 10? Anyway, the episode brought back so many memories as they were in Milan, one of my favorite cities (possibly my number one favorite city) in the world.

Memoirs of an Amazon Geisha

11.21.2010

Unknown dress
Old Navy coat and tights
Target pashmina
Forever 21 ring
Kelsi Dagger shoes

This dress was a bribe gift from my Dad (long story), purchased at a small shop in Miami's Bayside Market, and once I saw it, I fell in love with it. Everyone makes fun of it, but I don't care. Its unique, and unlike anything else I own.

And its not that short, I'm just an Amazon.

The Great UGG debate

11.20.2010

I can't believe that people still get so butt hurt over UGGS.

SERIOUSLY?!

Let me clarify: I know not everyone in the world will love everything I do and I am so OK with that (its what makes the world go round, right?). What I am referring to are people that essentially are (or think they are) "fashion snobs", who think Uggs are beneath them, and actually frown upon and make comments toward people who do (I wish this weren't so but yes I do know people like that).

OK they aren't the most attractive pieces of footwear (I do love the pair Blake Lively has on) but when its below freezing and I'm forced to leave the house, I want something that is comfortable and that will keep me warm.  For commuting and sitting in class all day, they are a godsend. You wont wear them for a night out on the town, or to the opera, but that's not what they are for. They are a functional item and meant to serve one purpose, to keep my tosies and legs warm.

Also, while most people wear the classic style, there are so many other styles for people to choose from, that are *gasp* stylish AND warm. And even if you do choose the classic pair, do as Tim Gunn says and make them work! Put in the effort and they can look cute.

In summary, don't knock it, till you've tried it. Guaranteed you'd be surprised if you did.

Soups on!

11.15.2010

As I stared out the window on my train ride home, out of nowhere, I got the craving for french onion soup. French onion is a classic fall comfort food for me. I mean, caramelized onions (I'm weird I love onions,), cheese, AND bread? YUM!

I used this recipe, and made a few variations; less onions since it was just for me, and pre-made stock (bleh). Also, being that it was last minute, it was missing some cheese. I know a travesty, but it was still delicious.

Caramelizing the onions

All the ingredients simmering away

Finished product. Delicious.

That's all for now. This *may* be the last post until the weekend as I have a very packed school week ahead. But we shall see about that one ;)

Nothing relieves stress better then a manipedi (and shopping of course).

Lauren Conrad

11.12.2010

Whether she is dressing up, or dressing down, Lauren Conrad is one of my favorite celebrities for style inspiration (icon is reserved to the one and only Victoria Beckham). No matter what she is wearing, she always looks so chic and put together. And I totally want to steal her Chanel.

In addition, I absolutely love her line at Kohls. Especially:
