Gossip Girl's 100th Episode

2.02.2012

I cannot believe it's been 100 episodes and 5 seasons of Gossip Girl. Since I am still trying to comprehend much of what happened on Monday night's episode (I won't spoil it in case you haven't watched it yet) I will focus on the the other most talked about aspect of the show besides the storyline: the fashion.

Being such a grand episode, it sure did not disappoint. From Serena and Blair's opening number dressed as Marilyn Monroe and Audrey Hepburn respectively, to Georgina's fabulous embellished Burberry coat, to of course, the bride (and bridesmaids) in Vera Wang, it was a hit.

I love that Georgina wore a Phillip Treacy fascinator, popular by many of the attendees of the Royal Wedding.
Fresh faced, yet still very Blair with the lip color.

If you watched the 100th episode, what did you think? Are you still as shocked as I am??

Designers make suggestions for Kate Middleton's wedding dress

12.15.2010

Its no secret that bridal anything is one of my obsessions. Since the announcement of the  royal engagement of Prince William and Kate Middleton, there has been much speculation as to who she will pick for her big day, as well as what type of dress she will wear. After all she has big shoes to fill, in terms of the wow factor (i.e. Princess Diana's 25 ft train).

Please do not think I am being disrespectful to any of these designers, because it is not my intention, and  because I truly love many of them. But in my opinion, a designer wedding dress shouldn't be something that you would see, say in an editorial piece or as a show stopping piece during Fashion Week. It should be about the day it represents: romantic, flowy, classic. A girl dreams about her big day for as long as she can remember...why should she be dressed like a pirate?

Ok, enough of my personal ranting, here are some of the suggestions:

Here are the ones that had me a bit...confused:
Lacroix
Pirate bride
Also think it looks like Lindsay Lohan

Rachel Roy
In mourning

Missoni
Baroque-era bride

However, I absolutely LOVE the following:
Valentino
Flowy, romantic, elegant

Gucci
Simple, yet extremely elegant

Monique Lhullier
Are there every any other words for Lhullier besides breathtaking?

Disney Fairy Tale Weddings by Alfred Angelo

10.04.2010

Now every girl can feel like a Disney Princess on her big day. Come 2011,  the  Disney Fairy Tale Weddings by Alfred Angelo wedding dresses will be in stores nationwide. The dresses are based off the seven Disney Princesses, (Snow White, Jasmine, Cinderella, Ariel, Sleeping Beauty, Belle, and Tianna), and are moderately priced from $599 to $1199. So now every girls fairy tale can come true (Prince Charming included...hopefully)

My favorite has to be the Snow White Dress (even though i absolutely HATED Snow White when I was younger. The witch gave me nightmares, and I refused to eat apples for fear of being poisoned.)
