It seems that everyone in the Tri-State area took advantage of the warm weather and the long weekend to head upstate and go apple picking on Saturday. Despite the temps and the mud (from Hurricane Irene?) it was nice to see the beginning changes of fall, and to be out of the city and in the clean, country air.
While the drive to the orchard and, being upstate is nice, my absolute favorite thing about apple picking is the abundance of apples that is now in my house! Muffins and pie are a given, but I can't wait to try some new apple infused recipes!

ReplyDeleteThank you! It is one of my favorite places upstate NY.
ReplyDeleteOmg I was totally thinking it was beach weather too! I wish I had worn shorts! At least you got to enjoy the beach one last time!
ReplyDeleteThere are apparently 14 different varieties! Everything from Granny Smith, to Prime reds! I think we mostly get Macintosh and Red Delicious, due to the part of the orchard we tend to gravitate to ie find parking in.
ReplyDeleteIt is one of the best if not the best! I DEMAND that you find an orchard stat! I dont even like apples (unless in pie lol), but it is just quintessential fall.
ReplyDeleteAnd thank you!
Thank you!
